Regine “Gina” Standridge, 62, went to her heavenly home Sunday, September 5, 2021.
Regine “Gina” Standridge was born on July 18,1959, in Heidelberg, Germany. She grew up in Germany with her parents, Sigfield Beecker and Erika (Jöst) Beecker, her sisters, Sigrid and Hannahlore, and her brother, Wolfran.
As an adult, Gina moved to the United States, ultimately making Hinesville, Georgia her home. She has made a lasting impact on our community. As a barber and a cosmetologist, Gina served many people - not simply from her station in a salon, but by touching their hearts - caring for people, listening to them when they needed to talk, encouraging them and praying for them. This carried into her community of faith as well. At church, Gina served in the choir, the audio/visual team, study groups, workday and holiday events. At the top of her list of personal values, you would find loyalty. Gina was one of the most loyal people you would ever encounter. Loyalty was her defining quality.
In addition to being survived by her family in Germany, Gina is survived by her longtime friend, Ronnie Strickland. For many years, Ronnie and Gina have looked out for and taken care of each other. They shared a very unique companionship that in turn, was shared with others - demonstrating the sort of unconditional love one finds in scripture.
Gina battled with COVID-19 and spent the last two weeks of her life in the hospital. Even from there, she continued to reach out by text and social media, encouraging others and asking them to pray - for her and for others who were in need. On Sunday, September 5, 2021, Gina posted to social media, a prayer asking God for healing “from the top of her head to the soles of her feet”. Shortly after, she closed her eyes and opened them in Heaven!
Gina was a loyal friend, a dear sister to many, and a caring part of our community. She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to help with Gina’s going home expenses to Connection Church, 116 Patriots Trail, Hinesville, Georgia 31313 or by going to church website listed below.
