Robert Olmstead Hamlin, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 12, 2022.
Robert was born August 10, 1957 in Baltimore, Maryland to parents, LTC Leland and Lucy Hamlin. He grew up as a military child with his brother. Being brought up in a military family allowed Robert and his brother Richard the opportunity to see and travel to many places around the world, and to experience the many different cultures. While being exposed to such diversity in his early life his mothers deep rooted ties to Liberty County brought the family back here to live. Robert was very proud of his heritage and his family’s ties to Taylor’s Creek.
Robert was a very gifted individual. He was very mechanically and electrically inclined. Robert used those talents to make a living for himself in the HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical appliance/devices field. He was a graduate of Bradwell Institute. Robert loved helping others and was always ready to lend a helping hand. His talents were remarkable and there was no device he could not repair. He enjoyed the work he did for others and watching wrestling. Robert seemed to be perpetually happy, even when discussing controversial topics. He would always remain calm and keep his sense of humor when he needed to. Robert was truly a happy soul. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Lucy and his brother, Richard. Robert will be greatly missed by many.
Survivors include his Uncle, Don Hamlin of Michigan and 7 first cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington with Pastor Hank Perry officiating. Burial to follow at the Hinesville Cemetery.
