Robert (Bob) Wesley Bartlett, 79, passed away unexpectedly July 23, 2022 at his home in Hinesville, Georgia.
Bob was born June 19, 1943 in Lenox, AL, the son of Edgar and Eva (Partin) Bartlett. Bob joined the US Army on October 2, 1962 and retired June 30, 1985. He served in the Vietnam War and received many decorations: Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Army Commendation Medal, Expert Badge (Rifle-M16A1) among other ribbons and badges. While stationed overseas in Germany, he met and married Ursula Martin. They would have celebrated 55 years of marriage in October.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Robert Dieter Bartlett; brothers Bill Bartlett & Lowell Bartlett; sisters Faye Harrelson, Penny Dyess, & Doris Richerson. Surviving in addition to his wife Ursula (Martin) Bartlett are sons Michael Wesley Bartlett & James Earl Bartlett; daughter Michelle Elizabeth (Bartlett) O’Steen & husband Lamar E. O’Steen Jr.; grandchildren Cory Bartlett & wife Shannon, Jessica Bartlett, Cody Bartlett, & Christian Ready; great grandchildren McKinley Bartlett, Jase Bartlett, & Ryley Bartlett; brothers Dunk Bartlett and wife Julie Mae, Tonnis Bartlett and wife Shirley; sisters Anne Butler, Melba Stanford & husband Buddy, Charlotte Bell; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Services are being provided by Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington, GA. His final resting place will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA.
