SFC (Ret) Richard Carlton Haulter, 69, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at his home after a long battle with his health.
Rick was born June 15, 1954 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Richard Conley and Rose Ann (LaDuke) Haulter. He grew up in Indiana where he spent most of his time outdoors which is where he enjoyed being. Rick enjoyed sports also, he played basketball, ran cross country, and wrestled. He graduated in 1972 and immediately after graduation Rick enlisted into the United States Army. He was a veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm where he received many awards, ribbons, and medals. After 21 years of proudly serving with the Military Police Rick decided to retire. He then starting driving trucks for Derst Baking Company and G&P.
Rick being an avid outdoorsman enjoyed fishing, shrimping, running marathons, and scuba diving. He was a member of the British Scuba Club in the AFCENT Netherlands.
Rick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Terry Lewis Haulter; son, Richard Carlton “CJ” Haulter, Jr.; daughter, Heather Haulter Hardy (Daniel); eight grandchildren, Shawn, Colten, Taylor, Reighlyn, Conner, Zachary, Nathan and River; and other extended family members and friends.
Visitation services will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.
A committal service with full military honors will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with Chaplain Shane B. Withrow officiating.
