Reinaldo “Rey” Torres, Jr., 66, gained his wings Sunday, March 16, 2025 at home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Rey was born January 14, 1959 to the late Reinaldo Torres, Sr. and Antonia Ortiz in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rey enlisted into The United States Army in 1977. He served 20 years in Air Defense Artillery and retired as a SSG and NCO instructor. After retirement he enjoyed a life of spending time outdoors where he became an avid deer hunter. Rey loved to go fishing and dancing while barbecuing. He also loved watching his Philadelphia Eagles and NASCAR. Rey was preceded in death his father and brother, Rafael Torres. He will be dearly missed by all of his loved ones, family, and friends.
Rey is survived by his 3 children, Vanessa Torres, Reinaldo Torres, III aka “Rey Rey” and Alex Torres (Alexis); mother. Antonia Ortiz; grandchildren, Larissa, Adalynn, Mayleigh and Addison; great grandson, Adrian; life partner, Marjorie Moore; several brothers and sisters and many other extended family members and loved ones.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.
A committal service will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with full military honors being rendered. The family welcomes anyone who would like to join in the procession to the cemetery to meet at 1:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.
