Sandra Serrano-Sommers Obituary

Sandra Ivette Serrano-Sommers, 65, passed away on August 30, 2020 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Sandra was born in Puerto Rico on September 22, 1954 which is where she lived until the age of 18 when she joined the United States Army. She loved being in the military and was proud of the time she served. Sandra lived life to the fullest and was not afraid of taking risks. After living in New York for over a decade, she moved with her two daughters to Jacksonville, Florida and started over. Sandra went to college during her 30’s and learned to drive in her early 40’s. She loved to dance and have a good time. She was a very fun person. Sandra’s favorite hobby was reading, and she was an animal lover. Both of which she passed down to her daughters. She spent the last 15 years of her life in Hinesville, Georgia after she married the love of her life.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Daniel Sommers; two children, Angelica Berrios and Christie Osuna; two grandchildren, Olivia Hoey and Liam Hoey; brother, Richard Serrano; three sisters, Nancy Serrano, Myra Ferrer, and Arlene Serrano.
