Sergio Miguel Ortega-Gonzalez

Sergio Miguel Ortega-Gonzalez, 24, left this earth on Saturday, March 27, 2021.

Sergio was born in Pahokee, Florida and has lived in Hinesville since he was 13. He has been a life-long sports fan. Sergio was an avid soccer player and played for the Bradwell Institute Tigers his junior and senior years of highschool. Sergio graduated Bradwell Institute in 2014 and went on to attend Armstrong State University. While in college, Sergio became the man that many of us know today. He became one of the most determined and hard-working people around. Sergio flourished into the proper dressed, well mannered man that carried himself with such pride, everyone knew who he was. In December 2019 Sergio graduated from now, Georgia Southern University with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. 

Sergio will never be forgotten as he has left a lasting impression upon all of us. He made anyone and everyone feel welcomed, whether you just met him or have known him for years. Sergio never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face. Always putting others before himself, Sergio offered wisdom way beyond his time. If you ever needed anything, you knew who to call. His wise words will forever be with us all.

Sergio is survived by his mother, Dawn Mojica, father, Javier Mojica Sr., as well as younger sisters; Tatiana Mojica, Nataliana Mojica, and younger brothers; Javier Mojica Jr., Leland Mojica, Jeremiah Mojica and extended family along with the countless amount of friends he has made over his short, but well lived life. Sergio’s legacy will forever live on, through us all.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Flemington.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Services will be live-streaming on the funeral homes Facebook page for those that cannot attend.
