Setsuko Delafchell

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Setsuko Delafchell, age 84, of Hinesville, Georgia, who passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026.

Born on August 27, 1941, in Okinawa, Japan, Setsuko was the cherished daughter of the late Kamado and Kamesuke Higa. She later built a beautiful life centered around love, family, and devotion, raising her two sons with great care and strength.

Setsuko was known for her creativity and appreciation for the simple joys in life. She had a special love for collecting things that brought her happiness and meaning, and she found beauty in treasured keepsakes and the memories attached to them. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kamado Higa; her father, Kamesuke Higa; and her beloved son, Mark Delafchell.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Robert Delafchell; her son, Michael Delafchell; along with extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Setsuko’s life was one of love, resilience, and grace, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Setsuko will be laid to rest in the family plot at the Hinesville Cemetery.
