Skylar Tiesler Obituary

Skylar Mackenzie Tiesler, age 30, passed away on January 18, 2026, after a lifelong battle with a congenital heart defect. From her first breath to her last, Skylar defied every odd with extraordinary courage, strength, and determination.

Born on September 19, 1995 in Austell, Georgia, Skylar was a lifelong resident of Hinesville, Georgia. She was a proud alumna of Bradwell Institute and Georgia Southern University, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude in both programs. Her academic achievements reflected not only her intelligence, but also her perseverance and work ethic.

Skylar dedicated seven years of her professional life to Button Gwinnett Elementary School, where she served as a bookkeeper. She was an essential and deeply loved member of the school community, known for her dedication, passion, and the care and pride she took in her work.

Above all else, Skylar cherished time spent with her family. Skylar loved her nieces and nephews deeply and as her own. She found joy in the worlds of Star Wars and the Harry Potter universe, and she was an avid reader. Skylar was known for her sharp sarcasm, quick wit, honesty, and infectious sense of humor. But more than anything, she will be remembered for her bravery. She faced challenges no one so young should ever have had to endure, making impossible decisions with grace and resolve. Skylar lived life on her own terms, driven by the immense love she had for her family, which gave her strength through every battle.

She is survived by her parents, Ralph Tiesler and Catherine Tiesler; her sisters, Kaylin Paradis (Timothy Paradis) and Morgan Sedler (Steven Sedler); her brother, Joshua Tiesler (Preston Evans); her nieces, Ellis Paradis and Darcy Paradis; and her nephews, Liam Sedler and Elliott Sedler; beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and her grandmother and grandfather.
