Thomas George Hines

Thomas G Hines, 59 years of age, of Allenhurst, Ga., passed on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah.

Mayor Hines was born on March 24th, 1962, in Dayton, KY but lived in Cincinnati, Ohio until he joined the military and moved to Fort Stewart GA, where he preceded to plant his roots and build a family with Deborah Ann Hines. Mayor Hines was an honorable man.  He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather AKA ( Papa ) and just an all-around good friend. Mayor Hines was the kind of man that you could always come and talk to and count on in any situation. He would always give you the hard truth whether you wanted to hear it or not. Mayor Hines was a pillar to his community, he always believed in giving back and showing the utmost integrity. 

Other than his service to our country, he was also the assistant fire chief at the Walthourville fire department for several years and was the Mayor of Allenhurst, GA since 2004, and if you asked him, those would be some of the things he was most proud of. He will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and friends and everyone that was lucky enough to have known him. Mayor Hines was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah.

Mayor Hines left behind his mother, Nancy A. Hines, and nine brothers and sisters. He also left behind his children, Kimberly Berg, Richard and Phillip Driggers, along with three grandchildren, Joshua Driggers, Dylan Williamson, and Zada Hammock and three great grandchildren Grayson Driggers, Annalise Higgins, and Devan Wilds.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Hinesville Cemetery with military honors being rendered. Pastor Tom Gardner will be officiating.
