Timothy Allen Coogan

Timothy “Tim” Allen Coogan, a beloved brother, best friend, and devoted community member, passed away on July 11, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on October 1, 1963, Tim lived a life defined by quiet service, profound generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.

Tim served his country honorably in the United States Army for ten years. Following his discharge in 1994, he put down roots and became a lifelong resident of Ludowici, Georgia. To his family, friends, and the entire community, Tim was known as a true diamond in the rough. He possessed a heart of gold and a rare, steadfast willingness to drop whatever he was doing to assist someone in need.

A genuine jack-of-all-trades, there were few problems Tim couldn't solve and no task too great when it came to supporting his neighbors and loved ones. He worked tirelessly and selflessly, making sure he helped everyone he possibly could, never once asking for anything in return. His devotion to his family, extended family, friends, and community went beyond measure, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and reliability that will not be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Kay and Edgar Coogan, as well as his siblings, Pat Coogan, Dan Coogan, and Cathy (Kitty) Coogan.

Tim’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by his surviving siblings: Sue Coogan, Terry Poppel, Fred Coogan, Bob Coogan, Rick Coogan, Jerry (Rose) Coogan, Miki (Margret) Amundsen, Barb (Tom) Lumb, and Ed Coogan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and an expansive circle of friends who considered him family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 1st, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington. A celebration of life will follow at the American Legion in Hinesville. All are welcome to come and celebrate as Tim would have wanted.
