April 10, 1933 – June 15, 2022

In the early morning hours of June 15th SGM William (Bill) H. Boan Jr. peacefully left this world at the age of 89. He has gone to join his best friend and wife, Millie.  Bill was the last of six Boan siblings to pass.

Bill was born a farm boy in Chesterfield County, South Carolina on April 10, 1933. He would go on to join the army, fight in two wars, receive numerous awards and accolades, and travel the world. He spent time in Korea, California, Paris, France, Virginia, Vietnam, Germany, Belgium and Georgia.  Bill met his wife Millie, in Paris France and started his family. While stationed at the Pentagon he drove a vehicle in JFKs funeral service. After 32 years of service he retired from Fort Stewart, and spent the rest of his days in Hinesville, Georgia.
Bill is proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, his son Terry Lee, his parents and all of his brothers and sisters.
Bill is survived by 2 children Rose Cedola and Billy Boan, their spouses Bert Cedola and Angela Boan, his 7 grandchildren; Stephanie and BJ Cedola, Will, Jake, and Jaylee Boan, Gabby Smith and Faith Bragg. He had 2 great grand children Azn and June Boan, and a nieces and nephew in South Carolina and Germany.
We would like to thank the VA and Hospice of Savannah for the great help they gave us to insure that our father could remain at his home until his death. Also a special thanks to Mary Miller, his favorite caregiver.
Funeral arrangements are as follows: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 6:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Flemington with full military honors being rendered.  Bill’s final resting place will be with his beloved wife, Barbara, at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
