William “Bill”James Hannigan, 76, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at home while under the care of hospice.
Mr. Hannigan was born October 22, 1946 to the late Walter C. and Alice J. Anderson. He lived in Liberty County since 1978. Mr. Hannigan was a retired 1SG from the Army, after which he was a Federal Service employee and later became an Ombudsman. Mr. Hannigan enjoyed fishing and working in the yard and had a deep love for his Red Dodge Charger. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Joy Hannigan. Mr. Hannigan will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary Susan Hannigan; son, William Bradley Hannigan (April); daughter, Suzanne Abbott (Grason); sisters, Lois (Kim), Faith and Tina; 8 grandchildren, Emily Hannigan, Joy James (Zach), Nathan Hannigan, Ember Rae Hannigan, Brandon Abbott (April), Jeromy Abbott (Jaselyn), Daniel Pilon (Brynna), Nicole Hartley (Colton); several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington with Rev. Tony Caldwell officiating. Military honors will be rendered by members of the United States Army honors team during the service.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
