Willie James McDonald, 71, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024 at home, while under the care of hospice, with family by his side.
Willie was born August 5, 1952 in Ashford, Alabama to the late Roxsie Mae Jackson and Willie J. McDonald. Willie attended schools in Headland, Alabama where he graduated with the class of 1970. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1972. Willie retired after 20 years of service with the military attaining the rank of sergeant first class. During his career while enlisted he received many awards, ribbons, and medals. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Jeanette McDonald. Willie’s life on this earth was very fulfilling, and accomplished. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Willie leaves behind to cherish his memory wife of 44 years, Pamela Wright McDonald; children, Johnny McDonald and Heather Davis; grandson, Treshaun Davis (Alasia); great grandson, Treshaun “TJ) Davis, Jr.; nieces, Frieda Robinson, Tracy Dixon (Alex), Regina Ward (Clyde), Alexandra Outlaw, Chenoa Woodruff (Joshua) and Eron Davis (Brad); nephews, Lydell Roberts (Geri), William Brown (Lori), Eric Outlaw (Jennifer) and Ian Locey; and several great nieces and nephews; sister’s in law, Marie Locey (Dan), Lisa Mazzella (Frank) and Martha Leone; and many other extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11:30 am at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Byler officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Committal service will be at 1:00 pm at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville with full military honors being rendered.
