Yong Cha Dorris

It is with a sad and burdened heart that on December 10, 2022, at 11:34 am that Eldress Yong Cha Dorris left this world to be with the Lord. 

Yong was born on December 16, 1940.  She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Barry J. Dorris who was at her bedside before she went home to the Lord.  

Yong is preceded in death by her father, Pak, Tu Saeng, and her mother, Kim Mun Sun. Yong is also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Elmer A. Dorris and mother-in-law, Margaret V. Dorris.

Yong is survived by her sister Pak, Sun Cha and brother Pak, Eu Ung of Busan, South Korea. Yong loved gardening, fishing, and traveling. Eldress Yong was a member of the Covenant of the Torch Church in Hinesville, Georgia. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life and the homegoing of Yong Cha Dorris.  

A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2022 at 1:30 pm at the Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home located at 1822 E. Oglethorpe Hwy, Hinesville, GA.  Reverend Eric Burton will officiate. A same day viewing service will began at 12:30 until 1:30 pm.  Procession will begin at 2:00 pm. Yong will be laid to rest at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery located in Glennville GA. Graveside service will begin at 3:00 pm. 

Yong’s husband Barry Dorris humbly asks that all donations be made to the Covenant of the Torch Church Missions Fund or Building Fund in her name.  Please do not buy or send flowers but donate to the church in the name of Eldress Yong Dorris. Thank you, and God bless you.
