Yong Ju (Jeannie) Lee Relaford

This proclamation personifies the life and spirit of Yong Ju (Jeannie) Lee Relaford.
Born on a beautiful early morning in Pohang South Korea on January 15, 1954, Yong Ju became the precious enchantment of her parents, Ki-Soon and Young Lee. She was the eldest of five children. She was preceded in death by her father, Young S. Lee.
Yong (Jeannie) grew up with various interests and passions, but her greatest love was spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always finding joy in caring for her children and grandchildren. Her patience and dedication to those in need touched the lives of many, especially her family and friends.
On February 4th, 1977 Yong (Jeannie) was united in marriage to Osee Relaford Jr., Together, they were blessed with four children: Michael, Antonio, Osee III, and AnSheree.
Yong (Jeannie) was also committed to her faith. While attending church on Fort Stewart, she frequently joined her mother at the Korean Baptist Church, offering loving support through her mother’s mobility challenges. Her faith shone through her daily actions and her selfless commitment to helping others in her community.
Jeannie concluded a 32-year career as a Financial Advisor with the Financial Readiness Program (FRP) under the Army Community Service (ACS). In this role, she provided classroom training and individual counseling to help soldiers manage their finances, set savings goals, eliminate debt, and prepare for emergencies. Her contributions to the financial well-being of military families were both impactful and far-reaching.
On November 15, 2024, Yong (Jeannie) departed this life, surrounded by her family leaving a legacy of love, faith, and service. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Osee, and her children, Michael (Abeni), Antonio (Charlene), Osee III, and AnSheree; 10 cherished grandchildren whom she adored: Ava and Aiden Lee; Brandon, Owen, Nyla, Violet, and Willa Gonzalez; Nyah and Alycia Relaford; and Anthony Relaford; a great-grandchild, Rylee Gonzalez; her mother, Ki-Soon, her brothers, Kwang Lee, Yong Lee (Jong), Ho-Joon Lee, her sister, Jonee (Henry) Hobson, her in-laws, Winston (Carolyn) Relaford, Julius Relaford, Annette (Harry) Lloyd, William Bacon, Leon (Antoinette) Relaford, William M.(Cynthia) Relaford, Carlton (Cheryl) Relaford, Marcia (James) Walker, Warren (Kristi) Relaford, Victor (Ursula) Relaford, Andrea Scott and a host of cherished relatives and close friends.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and as a testament to a life well-lived, guided by love, and filled with grace.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home in Flemington.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 am at Thomas L. Carter Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville at 1:00 pm following funeral service.
